Your excursion in a private vehicle, assisted by a professional and experienced driver, will lead you to the discovery of deep Morocco.
Passing through the Lalla Takerkoust Dam, located about 40 km from Marrakech, and enjoy the panoramic view at a height of 1400m, after you join the plateau of Kik to discover a magnificent landscape and a totally exotic setting. You will pass by traditional Berber villages where authentic houses are built in earth and stone by the inhabitants themselves. One of the Berber families will welcome you in their typical small fireplace to enjoy a glass of tea and a snack. We encourage you, therefore, to bring with you small souvenirs (toys – school supplies…) to distribute them to the small Berber children you will meet on the road.
If you coincide with a market day you will have the opportunity to visit the market. Your driver will then take you to the Ourika valley where you will explore the organic aromatic garden which contains the different medicinal plants used by the Berbers. You will then make your way to the waterfalls of the Setti Fatma valley to enjoy a traditional lunch in one of the restaurants next to the river or on the water.
long description :
The 3 valleys of the Great Atlas invite you to make a dream trip in one day from Marrakech. Berber villages, breathtaking landscapes, warm encounters, so many small pleasures that will mark your spirit. A program rich in culture and emotion not to be missed.
From Marrakech, we take the road to the small village of Tahanaout. Then we drive through immense landscapes planted with olive trees where charming small Berber villages follow one another. In winter, the Atlas Mountains offer an impressive picture with their snowy peaks shining in the sunlight.
One arrives in the valley of Asni ( 1500 meters), a green setting rich in fruit trees, which invites you to relax. Take the time to admire the authenticity of the villages of Sidi Fares, and the diversity of the plantations: olive trees, quince, apples, almond trees, etc.
The road continues towards the small village of Imlil. It is the starting point towards the great Toubkal. The charm of the Atlas continues its enchantment. You can go for a mule ride or discover the Berber villages and meet the inhabitants. The Imlil stage is an opportunity to enjoy a good tea in a traditional Berber house or at the inhabitant’s home.
Then we take the road to the Ourika valley. The sublime landscapes welcome you announcing the splendour of the Great Atlas. The Ourika wadi, in a wonderful wooded setting, accompanies you to the heart of the valley. Admire the Berber earthen villages on the slopes of the hills, and the authentic way of life of the populations. The small restaurants along the riverside offer you a cool break where you can drink a good tea or eat a tagine. From Setti Fatma, the village where the road ends, you can go hiking in the mountains and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view.
According to your desire, the excursion can include a stop at Lake Lalla Takerkoust. Then we will hike up the mountain through Berber villages to Moulay Brahim before descending to the Asni valley. The green setting of the High Atlas will accompany you throughout the excursion.
