Whether it is with family with children or with friends, sporty or less sporty this excursion will delight you. The excursion to the Ourika Valley is perfect for those who want to discover the splendor of the High Atlas and experience the simple way of life of the Berbers.
A small hour drive is enough to reach the Ourika Valley. First site, not to be missed, to visit is the weekly market Tnine-Ourika: A small village where the Souk is held on the wadi only on Mondays or Fridays. Discover this beautiful village populated mainly by Berbers (possibility to visit the hydraulic mills).

Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to visit a Berber family in their home and discover their way of life. Enjoy the scenery and take part in a small meal (tea and snacks). Don’t miss the opportunity to take with you small souvenirs (ex: school supplies) to give to the little children of the village. They will be a source of joy for them.
Then take your way to the Atlas Mountains to explore the Setti-Fatma Waterfalls. The landscape is more and more green, and the air is cooler and cooler. On arrival, your hike will start with your guide. Enjoy a succession of panoramic views and don’t hesitate to take lots of pictures. The village has many typical restaurants offering a choice of tagines and grills according to your desires.

With family or friends, leave Marrakech for a day to discover the Ourika Valley in the heart of the High Atlas. Superb landscapes accompany you along the way. Admire the colors of the reliefs and green meadows. 
Authentic Berber villages perched in the mountains offer a unique scenery. The opportunity to admire the beautiful terraced crops that give all kinds of vegetables.

The path continues along the Oued Ourika. Greenery dominates the space sheltering various fruit trees. Small, modest dwellings stand side by side with luxurious residences. As you go along the river, small restaurants with terraces overlooking the Oued follow one another, offering visitors a cool break. Here you can enjoy tasty Berber tajines accompanied by good mint tea with local aromatic plants.

The road ends at Setti Fatma. The village located about 70 km from Marrakech is famous for its seven waterfalls. It is the starting point for many excursions in the mountains and Berber villages. The more sporty can make a two-hour hike to the last waterfalls at the top of the mountain and enjoy the panoramic view in a cool atmosphere. The others will be satisfied to discover the first waterfall offering a breathtaking view of the valley. 
From Setti Fatma, one can also start the ascent of the great Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa which culminates at 4165 meters above sea level.
